Holiday Gift Cards for CASA children
During the holiday season the Council supplies a $25 gift card to CASA children 11 and under and a $50 gift card to those 12 and over. The children have a day out with their CASA to “Buy anything they want” with their own card. For many of the children, this is the first time they are taken to a store and allowed to pick out something just for themselves.
Holiday Giving Trees
Each year, holiday trees are located in various Bashas’ stores in Tucson, Sahuarita and Green Valley. They are decorated with envelopes requesting gift cards for our foster children. The Holiday Trees are a way for concerned members of the community to brighten the holiday of a CASA child in need. The preferred cards are Target, Walmart, and VISA or Mastercards.
Holiday Party for CASA Children
Most of our CASA children have never had the opportunity to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza or other religions during the December time frame. Every year the CASA Support Council for Pima County hosts a holiday party at Golf N’ Stuff on the 1st Sunday in December. The CASA brings her/his CASA child and they enjoy a number of activities, including miniature golf, boats, bumper cars, laser tag and video games and a visit with Santa and his elf who does face painting. They enjoy pizza, sodas, and cookies. Each child gets to pick out a teddy bear to take home. It is a day that always brings smiles to our CASA children.
